Arthur W. Howe is chief executive officer and co-founder of Verve Wireless, which he calls the largest and fastest-growing mobile content company in the country.

He was also a long-time Pennsylvania publisher, writer, and newspaper marketing executive.

Verve Wireless provides local publishers, including alternative newsweeklies and city magazines, the ability to publish listings, reviews, classifieds and other local content on the mobile devices. It currently works with thousands of publishers in the North America and Europe and its news application on the iPhone – AP Mobile News Network – is consistently rated as the most popular news app in the world.

In the 1990s, Howe was president and publisher of Montgomery Newspapers, which he built into the Philadelphia region’s largest group of suburban newspapers, magazines and specialty publications. The Montgomery publications were consistently recognized as the best written and marketed suburban newspapers in the nation. In 1998, the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publisher’s Association awarded Howe its inaugural Ben Franklin Award for publishing excellence.

Howe was also president of Village Voice Media, the nation’s largest alternative newsweekly publisher, and CEO of Kildysart LLC, owner of two Midwest newspapers.

As a writer, Howe was recognized in a series of awards, including the Scripps Howard Public Service Award. In 1986, Howe was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting by Columbia University.

Howe graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA from Wharton School.
